What Happens During Total Knee Replacement?
The anesthetist may perform a variety of anesthetic (numb or unconscious) procedures during surgery. It takes at least 90 minutes to have knee surgery. Your surgeon first makes an incision or cut through the front of your knee. After this, the damaged part of the knee is removed. Surgeons replace the damaged knee with an artificial knee joint. This artificial knee joint is made of metal, plastic, ceramic, or a variety of metals. What Should I Do After Total Knee Replacement?
- You should go home from the hospital/clinic after three to seven days.
